In this class each student will make a painting connected to this great city- whether it is the Empire State Building or the shops on Kings Highway -we will explore what it means to paint a place and infuse it with your personal meaning.
Art and Design November 22 / November 29 / December 6 /December 13
In this season we will learn the elegance of abstract art with a focus on design . What’s the difference between art and design? Design often deals with shape , color , patterns, symbols and motifs with a focus on aesthetics. The “sign” part of design tells us that. Students will make an abstract painting using their own invented design. We will focus on color , scale and composition and learn how design in painting can please the eye.

We will start from a personal photo and expand on it in the final piece
