The design Gayle and I collaborated on for the art room at The Well is meant to influence growth, and more specifically women empowerment. The woman, as
pictured below, is breathing water back into the atmosphere while
simultaneously washing her face with the same stream of water. Water in all its forms, ocean, lake, river, springs, is a symbol and necessity for all forms of life as well as a symbol of a stream of consciousness. This continuum of cleansing and flowing is seemingly mundane yet constant, therefore
due to its repetitive nature it is creating waves, it is creating force, it is resilient. This message can be interpreted by understanding that growth and power must happen
by initially creating a continuum- a flow of cleansing and resetting, always understanding where you began yet never stopping the flow. This serves as a message
to women looking to create and lead their own projects. The message being to handle their projects with elegance, and patience because ultimately their force will be created through continuous repetition, refinement and perseverance. Ultimately once they have achieved their "wave", it will serve as a
reminder to remain resilient within the new found forceful nature of the
process, and to uphold that force, that flow, throughout even the mundanities of the process.
